Textillery Gallery

Emma Overman was born in Sete Lagoas, Brazil in
1975, and grew up in Union City, Tennessee. She earned her B.A.
in Art from Hanover College and completed the Post Baccalaureate
Program at Maryland Institute College of Art. Now residing in
Indianapolis, Emma has been a full time artist and illustrator
since 2000.
Emma has illustrated four children’s books and also
works with adult-themed material. Her work has earned both
local and international awards. Emma is the reigning Art
vs. Art champion and will be illustrating for the
Indianapolis Fringe Festival for the next few years. Often
exhibited in Indiana, Emma’s work has also been shown in
New York, London, and Los Angeles. When she is not
creating art, Emma enjoys speaking to school groups about
the illustration process. More information on the artist

Textillery Gallery from July 1 through
July 31, 2007.
She is
one of many
Midwestern artists who will showcase her work in coming
months in the
Textillery Gallery at
the historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater. The Textillery
Gallery is located on the second floor of the theater and
features local and regional artists every month.
