$5 General Admission, PG13 Equivalent The Indiana premiere of the new film “My Bloody Wedding” is coming in February to Bloomington! Award winning filmmaker and Indiana native Morgan D. Mead will be personally presenting his newest and funniest movie to date, at a special midnight screening at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on February 21st.
From the filmmaker who brought Hollywood to small-town Indiana with the award winning dramedy “My Name Is Jerry” comes “My Bloody Wedding,” a comedy about a boy, his robot, and his man-eating bride. Morgan D. Mead directed the film, which was filmed in Indianapolis and produced under his production shingle Clothespin Films. It may be hard to follow the hugely successful “My Name is Jerry”, which had several sold-out shows across the country, but Mead certainly upped the ante with an ambitious special effects-heavy crowd pleaser. Mead continues to push the boundaries of independent filmmaking with “My Bloody Wedding” by becoming one of the very first filmmakers to shoot a feature film on the Canon 5D Mark II (a camera built for still photography!) to record in some of the highest quality HD available.
The midnight event promises to be a show to remember, and if “My Name is Jerry” was any sign, you can count on a packed house. “My Bloody Wedding” was written by Mead along with his partner, Morgan C. Mead, an actress out of Los Angeles. And no, they're not related. They just happen to have the same name, the same sense of humor, and they just happen to both be in the film industry. The cast members hail from Indianapolis, Chicago, Kentucky, New York, as well as Los Angeles.
“My Bloody Wedding” follows Doug, (Patrick Babbitt) a boyish 20-something preparing to wed the girl of his dreams, Callista (Morgan C. Mead) as he struggles to figure out why she's been acting so strange. Callista and her bridesmaids have become secretly possessed by an ancient evil mere days before the wedding, and they begin tormenting the city with their cravings for the flesh. A curious stranger named Clyde (David Fultz) almost too eagerly steps in to help Doug and the guys find a way to stop them...with as much bloodshed as possible. The diverse supporting cast consisting of Kyle Moore, Tristan Ross, Lindsey Zelli, Carley Cornelius, Keith Lipke, and Nick Timperman, keeps the audience rolling with portrayals of Doug’s diverse group of friends, including a Mexican wrestler and a robot sidekick. The resulting tale puts any bad wedding memory to shame with something new, something cruddy, something borrowed, and something bloody.
Both Morgan Meads will be in attendance, as well as Patrick and David. Come out and meet the cast and crew of the film! For more about the film visit www.mybloodywedding.com
