It has been 40 years since the African American Dance Company took the stage for its first spring concert at the Indiana University Auditorium. It is time to celebrate!
Exemplifying keen vigorous expression, eloquence and class, the African American Dance Company captures and conveys the spirit of dance styles of the African Diaspora. The company's repertoire includes original choreography in a fusion of modern, jazz, African, and Latin American dance styles. The ensemble has worked with such renowned artists as Francis Nii-Yartey, and Bernard Woma from Ghana, West Africa; Elana Anderson, former dancer with Deeply Rooted Productions; and Reynaldo Gonzalez, Rogelio Kindelan and Silfredo LaO from Cuba.
Directed by Prof. Iris Rosa.
