The historic Buskirk Chumley Theater will be the site for the Midwest Association of Filipino Americans (MAFA) Entertainment and Variety Show on Saturday February 27th, 2010. The Entertainment and Variety Show (or V-Show for short) is a staple of the conference where the delegates and facilitators can watch some of the up and coming Filipino-American acts from around the country perform.
“We are tremendously excited to have the show at the theater”, said Marisa Santiago the 2010 MAFA Conference Coordinator. “It’s a great venue and with it being in the heart of downtown Bloomington, we felt that it was only appropriate that it would take place here”.
Some of the notable acts that will grace the stage are HHC – Bloomington, IU FSA Cultural with more to be announced in the coming days.
The Midwest Association of Filipino Americans Conference was founded at Marquette University in 1996. It is the second largest gathering of Filipino-American collegiate students in the Midwest, and it is the only conference that has a new host school every year. The 2010 Conference will be the fourteenth in MAFA’s history.
