Would you like to get behind the scenes at your community theater? Are you ready to help make music, dance, theater, and more possible at the BCT?
We've got the opportunity for you! Volunteering at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater will connect you to the hub of cultural life in Bloomington and might just land you that autograph you've been wanting.
Our volunteer ushers create a welcoming, enjoyable environment at the theater. We are always looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, customer service-oriented individuals to take tickets, seat our patrons, sell artist merchandise, and perform a variety of other tasks that help our events go smoothly. Go behind the scenes of some of the greatest events on Bloomington's busy cultural agenda.
If you would like to learn more about volunteering as a BCT usher, please take a look at our Volunteer Usher Handbook.
Next Usher Training : Wednesday, November 30th
The Buskirk-Chumley Theater's next monthly Usher Training and Orientation will be on Wednesday, November 30th at 7pm. The training session will last two hours. For more information please follow this link.
Help spread the word about events at the BCT by joining our street team and distributing posters for nationally-known performers around Bloomington. Street team volunteers sign up to cover a section of town and are provided with a list of posting locations. Expect 10-12 posting sessions per year.
2015 Volunteer of the Year: Millie Jackson
Congratulations to Millie Jackson for receiving the "Jim Mahan BCT Volunteer of the Year" award for 2015! Millie is one of the most experienced ushers on the Buskirk-Chumley Theater’s team of volunteers. She has worked all types of events from rap music shows to theater productions by Cardinal Stage Company and never tires of patiently answering every question theater patrons might have.
