PARKING FOR BUSKIRK-CHUMLEY THEATER EVENTS
Located within the rich Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD), the Buskirk-Chumley Theater is neatly tucked in Bloomington’s quaint downtown area. Downtown Bloomington is easily accessible by walking, however, public parking is available near the theater for our driving patrons in the form of street parking, metered parking lots, and monitored parking garages. Bicycle parking racks are located throughout the downtown area and in most downtown parking garages.
Street Parking
Free hourly parking spaces can be found on the streets surrounding the theater (Kirkwood Ave., Washington St., Fourth St., Walnut St.). These spaces are generally limited to 1 or 2 hour parking spaces, time limits are are noted on street signage and enforced Monday - Friday from 8am-5pm (unless otherwise noted on the sign). Additionally, during these times, you can only park on any given block for up to 1 or 2 hours (as indicated by parking signs) in a 24-hour period. During evenings and on weekends, there is no time limit for these spots. There are also metered street parking spaces, note the enforcement times and rates on the meters. Note: Please pay special attention to the parking signs for specifications on parking length and enforcement rules as these are subject to change and vary depending on the location.
Garage & Lot Parking
Fourth Street & Washington Street: Located directly behind the BCT, this is a public lot enforced by coin-operated parking meters. The maximum time limit for this garage is 12 hours at a rate of $0.50/hr. Please bring sufficient change for the meters, as the BCT does not provide coins. Meters are enforced Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
Fourth Street & Walnut Street: The Garage Art parking garage is another option within walking distance of the BCT, located about one block southwest of the theater. The current rate is $0.50 per hour. Meters are enforced Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
Seventh Street & Walnut Street: The Garage Band parking garage is located one and a half blocks north of the BCT. The current rate is $0.50 per hour. Meters are enforced 24 hours per day.
