PARKING FOR BUSKIRK-CHUMLEY THEATER EVENTS
Located within the rich Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD), the Buskirk-Chumley Theater is neatly tucked in Bloomington’s quaint downtown area. Downtown Bloomington is easily accessible by walking, however, public parking is available near the theater for our driving patrons in the form of street parking, metered parking lots, and monitored parking garages. Bicycle parking racks are located throughout the downtown area and in most downtown parking garages.

Public Parking Guidelines

  • Please bring sufficient change for metered parking, as the BCT cannot provide coins/change. City meters also accept credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover) and equipped with the Parkmobile app, allowing patrons to monitor and pay for parking via smart phone and mobile devices.
  • There are a variety of FREE PARKING options downtown, please consult the Downtown Parking page for more detail.
  • Information on this page is subject to change based on City Of Bloomington Parking Enforcement policies, please note and follow all posted signage in public parking locations and consult the City Of Bloomington's Downtown Parking page for updated parking information.
  • There are private parking lots in the downtown area, choosing to park in these spaces is at the driver's own risk, as these lots are monitored by private companies who will tow non-permitted vehicles. Please be mindful of posted signs and policies in private lots.

Street Parking
The City of Bloomington has installed parking meters in the downtown area. These parking meters will be enforced from 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM and accept coins ($1 coins, quarters, dimes, and nickels) as well as credit/debit cards as payment (Visa/MasterCard/Discover). Rates are 25 cents per 15 minutes. If paying by coin, exact change is encouraged, the meters will not give out change. If paying by credit/debit cards there is a 1-hour minimum purchase required ($1) as well as a 30 cent convenience charge per transaction

City of Bloomington also offers the ParkMobile mobile device/app service at each meter, which will allow registered patrons to pay, monitor, and receive alerts for their parking at metered spaces. ParkMobile supports all major credit cards, can be linked to a mobile "wallet", and accepts payments via PayPal. Register for ParkMobile

Please watch the meter demo video below to see how easy they are to operate. For more details about downtown parking and meter FAQs, please visit the City Of Bloomington Downtown Parking information page.
