Just walk in and over 80 years of incredible performances
will wash over you. Hear Hoagy Carmichael play Stardust,
see Gone With the Wind for the first time in
Technicolor, feel the vibrations of world music you
wouldn't hear anywhere else, swoon with the harmony of the
Indigo Girls, and feel the pulse of downtown.
These unique experiences are what the Buskirk-Chumley
Theater has offered to Bloomington for generations. Yet,
like all non profit arts organizations, we cannot exist on
the strength of ticket sales or theater rentals alone.
We need your financial support to continue bringing arts
and cultural celebrations to our downtown. Your support
will ensure that future unforgetable moments can be made
in this historic space, enriching our downtown, our
community and most importantly, our memories. Please read
how you can support the BCT through sponsorship,
volunteering,
membership or purchasing program
or on-screen advertising.

Golden
Age of Hollywood movie series
Through a unique
collaboration with Indiana University’s Department of
Communication & Culture, the Buskirk-Chumley Theater and
Bloomington Parks & Recreation have found a way to bring
back the movie matinee! Celebrate a time gone by, when
watching musicals, romance, and comedy at the local movie
palace was all the rage! The Golden Age of Hollywood
Series at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater offers movie
classics from the 1930's, 40s and 50s.
The
Golden Age of Hollywood Movie Series has now been
presenting these beloved films for well over a year. Our
regular attendance is close to 200 patrons ranging in age
from teenager to retiree. The Series was honored by a
Herald-Times feature article last summer, and the Golden
Age of Hollywood’s dedicated audience continues to grow.
IU
Professor Chris Anderson brings insight and interesting
accounts from his work in the field through a short
introduction to every film. For a complete listing of
