Celebrate the sounds that have stood the test of time during the GOOD OL’ SUMMERTIME concert series at the historic and air-conditioned Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Featuring the local big band sounds of the STARDUSTERS JAZZ ORCHESTRA and the soulful, gypsy jazz of the JOHN JORGENSON QUINTET, this series aims to fill your summer with music and memories.

Tickets for each of these nostalgia concerts are just $10 for adults and $7 for those 50 and older or children 12 and under. Tickets are on sale now at the Sunrise Box Office, adjacent to the theater or purchase them online. The Good Ol' Summertime series is presented by the Buskirk-Chumley Theater and Bloomington Parks & Recreation and is sponsored by WFIU, 103.7 FM and Humana MarketPOINT.
 

JOHN JORGENSON QUINTET           ON SALE NOW!

The John Jorgenson Quintet features guitarist John Jorgenson, a founding member of the Desert Rose Band, the Hellecasters, and six-year member of Elton John's band. Artists ranging from Barbra Streisand to Bonnie Raitt to Earl Scruggs have sought out Jorgenson's guitar work.  Recently, John Jorgenson was chosen to portray Django Reinhardt in the feature film Head in the Clouds. Audiences will be amazed by John's dazzling guitar work as well as his mastery as a clarinet player and vocalist.  Whether playing his own accessible compositions or classic standards, John and his band make music that is equally romantic and ecstatic, played with virtuosity and soul.


STARDUSTERS JAZZ ORCHESTRA

Bringing back the sounds of the best big bands of the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s, the Stardusters Jazz Orchestra will make you want to get up and dance.  A full stage show with the favorite tunes you will always remember, Jerry Jerome and his band of Stardusters are a Good Ol’ Summertime favorite.
